Privacy Notice

1. Who We Are & Contact

This notice explains how TalktoTesla handles your personal data. For any question or request, contact privacy@talktotesla.com or the in-app chat. Detailed business information is disclosed without delay upon request.

2. Data We Collect

• Account: LINE user ID / WhatsApp phone number, display name, language, country
• Tesla connection: authorization tokens for your Tesla account (we never receive your email/password), VIN, vehicle specs
• Vehicle & driving data: odometer, charging history, battery state, telemetry (high-frequency data including speed, gear and location)
• Location: drive route coordinates, charging locations, and an approximate area of your home/work
• Conversation data: your chat questions and responses (for answer quality and context)
• Billing: plan, payment history, receipt email. Card numbers are processed by Stripe — we never store them
• Vehicle inspection data (Japan only, optional): inspection expiry, plate, etc.
• Waitlist: email address and approximate country (inferred from IP; the IP address itself is not stored)

3. How We Use Your Data

• Providing the service (chat answers, driving / charging / battery analysis, maintenance and inspection reminders, driving scores)
• Billing, payments and receipts
• Launch and product update emails (waitlist, based on your consent)
• Introducing nearby service shops and campaigns (only with your separate, optional consent)
• Building anonymous fleet statistics (averages and benchmarks that cannot identify you)
• Fraud prevention, security, incident response and service improvement

4. Sharing with Registered Shops (Optional)

Only with your separate consent, we use your approximate area to deliver campaigns and service suggestions from nearby registered shops. We never pass your address or precise location to shops. This consent is optional — all basic features work without it.

5. Processors (Service Providers)

• Database & hosting: Supabase / Vercel / Fly.io / Google Cloud
• Payments: Stripe (US)
• AI responses: xAI (US — your chat messages and a summary of relevant vehicle data are sent for processing)
• Email delivery: Resend (US)
• Messaging: LY Corporation (LINE, Japan) / Meta (WhatsApp, US)
• Vehicle data source: Tesla, Inc. (official Fleet API, based on your authorization)
• We have data processing agreements with these processors and they may only use data within our instructions. We never sell personal data. Beyond the above, we share data with third parties only with your consent or where required by law.

6. Retention

• Raw telemetry (high-frequency data including location): 90 days, then converted into anonymous aggregates
• Conversation data: deleted after 12 months
• Account & vehicle data: kept while you use the service; anonymized and deleted 6 months after cancellation (a grace period in case you return)
• On vehicle sale: the previous owner’s personal data is quarantined and deleted; only de-identified maintenance records carry over
• Payment records: statutory retention periods
• Waitlist: unconfirmed signups deleted after 30 days; confirmed kept until we stop sending or you request deletion (up to 12 months)
• Immediate deletion: regardless of the above, we delete within one month of your request

7. Cancellation & Deletion

You can cancel the service at any time from the in-app settings. Every marketing email has a one-click unsubscribe. To request access, rectification or deletion of your data, contact privacy@talktotesla.com — we respond within one month.

8. Analytics & Profiling

We run automated analysis on your vehicle data — driving scores, efficiency analysis, maintenance predictions. These are core features of the service and do not constitute automated decisions with legal effects on you.

9. Cookies, Children & Changes

We do not use cookies or advertising trackers (analytics is cookieless and aggregate-only). The service is not directed at anyone under 16. We will announce material changes to this notice in-app or by email.
